Embrace Networking:
I know, I know networking can be a bit nerve wrecking! YIKES! Start small, ask a few friends if they have any contacts they can introduce you to for a ‘discovery call’. Take a class and connect with at least two people. If you are a member of a professional organization, reach out to a few members for advice on your career path. Also, while LinkedIn is a little busy these days, it’s still a great networking tool. Post an article a week on your area if interest, with a few relevant hashtags, engage with professionals in your career space (even just hitting the like button) and let the backend algorithm work for you – it will begin a little bit of curation of your career interest areas.
Find your career tribe:
I’m a huge believer in finding your career tribe – there is something special about spending time with professionals who share your goals or who’ve already navigated a level of career success you are aiming for! Sharing your career goal with some who understands and supports your path is extremely helpful! It was a significant aspect during my career journey –
Believe in your goals:
Your goals are YOUR GOALS! Try not to allow others to dictate what your success will be. While it may not be easy, set your path, research your career, build your network, show up and GO! Your time is now!
